He was born in 1967 in Çankırı, Turkiye. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Hacettepe University (HÜZMF) in 1992. After completing one year of English preparatory education, he received his M.Sc. degree in 1997 from Çukurova University, Department of Mining Engineering, with a thesis on feasibility studies in lignite coal operations. In 2004, he completed his Ph.D. focusing on cyanide use and treatment in silver processing plants. He has numerous national and international publications on precious ores, environmental impact assessments, industrial raw material beneficiation, coal preparation, and occupational health and safety (OHS). He is currently serving as a faculty member in the Mineral Processing Division of the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. He is married and has two children.
