Dr. Mahmut ALTINER is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mining Engineering, Division of Mineral Processing at Çukurova University. Since 2021, he has also been the Director of the Aladağ Vocational School at the same university. He received his B.Sc. (2007), M.Sc. (2011), and Ph.D. (2016) degrees from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. His research focuses on the sustainable recovery of strategically and critically important metals (such as Sb, V, Ni, Au, Ag, Li, Al, and REEs) from various industrial wastes (including smelting slags, petroleum coke ash, and aluminum residues), as well as the sequestration of CO₂ gas—one of the major greenhouse gases—as inorganic mineral carbonates. In this context, he has served as the principal investigator in TÜBİTAK-1001 and TÜBİTAK-1002 projects, and as a researcher in a TÜBİTAK-3501 project. Dr. ALTINER has authored numerous international publications indexed in SCI-E. According to the list published by Elsevier (2023 and 2024), he is ranked among the world’s top 2% most influential scientists in the field of Mining & Metallurgy.
He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 1998. In 2002, he received his Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Çukurova University, earning the title of Mining Engineer (M.Sc.). Between 1998 and 2011, he operated his own private company. In 2011, he established MEYA Engineering Ltd., through which he has been actively providing mining engineering services and consultancy, a role he continues to this day. From 2002 to 2017, he served in various positions on the Board of Directors of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB), including Vice President, Treasurer, and Board Member. Between 2017 and 2021, he held the position of President of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers. In 2014, he became a certified Class A Occupational Safety Specialist. In 2022, he was elected as a member of the Adana Chamber of Commerce Assembly, a position he still holds. He is also a member of the Adana Tennis, Mountaineering and Water Sports Club. He is married and the father of two daughters.

He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Division of Mining Operations within the same department. He is also a Competent Person certified by UMREK (National Resources and Reserves Reporting Committee of Türkiye). His research interests include mineral resource/reserve estimation, mine valuation, open-pit mine planning, and optimization. He has authored numerous articles and papers published in national and international journals, conferences, and symposiums.
She graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2008. She received her M.Sc. (2011) and Ph.D. (2019) degrees from the same department. She is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Division of Mining Operations at Çukurova University. She is a certified Class B Occupational Safety Specialist and serves as a board member of the Occupational Health and Safety Education, Practice, and Research Center at Çukurova University. Her main research areas include drilling and blasting, rock mechanics, soil mechanics, and mining methods (both open-pit and underground). She has authored numerous articles published in national and international journals and has presented papers at various conferences and symposiums.
Dr. YAPICI received her B.Sc. degree in Geological Engineering from the Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Çukurova University in 1987. She completed her M.Sc. in Geological Engineering at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Çukurova University in 1990, and earned her Ph.D. in 2002 from the Division of Economic Geology and Geochemistry, Department of Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Çukurova University. Since 1994, she has been serving as a faculty member in the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. Her research interests include mineralogy-petrography, geochemistry, ore deposits, industrial raw materials, materials science, and medical geology. She has published numerous articles in national and international journals and has presented papers at various conferences and symposiums.
İlknur EROL graduated as the top student from the Department of Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Çukurova University in 2004. In 2005, she began her academic career as a Research Assistant at Zonguldak Karaelmas University. In 2006, she conducted research for three months at RWTH Aachen University in Germany. She completed her M.Sc. in 2007 and her Ph.D. in 2012. In 2013, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geological Engineering at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University. Since 2019, she has been serving as a faculty member (Dr. Lecturer) in the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. Her research focuses on occupational health and safety in mining. She is married and has two children.
Dr. URUNVEREN has graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at Çukurova University in 2004. He received his M.Sc. in 2008 and Ph.D. in 2019 in the Division of Mining Operations from the same department. He began his academic career in 2011 as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. In 2020, he was appointed as a Dr. Lecturer in the Division of Mining Mechanization and Technology within the same department, where he continues to serve.
After completing his undergraduate education in the Department of Mining Engineering at Selçuk University, he took part in various projects within the mining and software sectors. In 2024, he began his academic career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. He continues his studies in the field of drilling technologies, conducting research focused on the development and improvement of drilling applications and technologies.
He was born in 1980 in Adana. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in various cities. He started his studies at the Department of Mining Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Çukurova University in 2000 and graduated in 2004. He has worked in the fields of quartzite, chromite, and occupational safety in mining operations. Alongside his professional career, he has served two terms as a Board Member of the Chamber of Mining Engineers and continues to serve in this role.
He was born in 1982 in Tarsus. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2013. In 2018, he completed his master’s degree at Adana Science and Technology University. Since 2013, he has been working within Akmetal Mining and currently serves as the Aladağ Chromite Operations Manager. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB).
He was born in 1987 in Adana. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2011. In the same year, he started working for a private construction company as the supervisor of aggregate quarries and tunnels within the scope of the Alaköprü Dam construction project, which was part of the TRNC Drinking Water Supply Project in Anamur, Mersin. Until 2013, he continued working as a quarry supervisor, including during the Bozkır Dam construction in Konya. He also provided occupational safety services through his own company with a Class C Occupational Safety Certificate. In 2015, he began working at Seyhan Municipality as a site chief responsible for road construction, maintenance, and repair works. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. He serves as a board member of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB) and is the representative of the Adana Provincial Coordination Council (İKK) of TMMOB. Currently, he is serving as the Head of the Zero Waste Branch and the Road Branch at Adana Metropolitan Municipality.
He was born in 1959 in Adana. He graduated from the Department of Mining at ZDMMA in 1982. After graduation, he began working in the private sector as a Mining Engineer. Starting with small-scale mining companies in Anatolia, he later held managerial positions in corporate export-oriented firms. In 2000, he completed his master's degree at Çukurova University and earned the title of Senior Mining Engineer. In the same year, during the general assembly of the Chamber of Mining Engineers, he took part in the establishment of the Adana Branch as a founding board member, following the decision to transform the Adana regional representation into an official branch. He continued this role until 2015. He has actively participated in numerous events organized by the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) Chamber of Mining Engineers. He is still actively working in the mining sector.
He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1985. He worked as a mining engineer in the private sector and founded Öz-doğa Mining and Trade Co. Ltd. in 1990. The company has been engaged in chromite ore production in the Aladağ region of Adana. In 2011, he founded the Adana Metal Mining Producers Association and served as its president. He is a member of the METU Alumni Association in Adana. He also served as a board member and Vice President of the TMMOB Chamber of Mining Engineers Adana Branch. He has been a member of the Mining Professional Committee at the Adana Chamber of Commerce for three terms and currently serves as a member of the Assembly of the Adana Chamber of Commerce.
He was born in 1975 in Sivas. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2001. After graduation, he began working in the private sector as a Mining Engineer and Occupational Safety Specialist. He is currently serving as a board member of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB). He works as an Occupational Safety Specialist within the companies Gümüştaş Madencilik ve Ticaret A.Ş., Esen Madencilik ve San. ve Tic. A.Ş., and Nartaş Madencilik İnş. Nak. San. Tic. Ltd. Şti.
He was born in 1987 in Adana. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2011. Since 2023, he has been pursuing his master's degree in Mining Engineering at Çukurova University. After graduation, he worked for about two years at a chromite beneficiation plant, followed by seven years as a site manager in stone quarries. For the past 2.5 years, he has been serving as an Occupational Safety Specialist (Class A), working in both surface and underground mining operations. He is currently a member of the 49th Term Executive Board of the Adana Branch of the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB).
Veyis Sır graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Eskişehir Osmangazi University in 2006. He began his professional career in 2012 as an Excavation Shift Engineer at Özdoğan Group. Between 2013 and 2025, he held various positions at Turkish Coal Enterprises (TKİ), including control engineer, energy and royalty control engineer, project engineer, and laboratory engineer. In 2021, he began his master's studies in the Department of Mining Engineering at Hacettepe University. He has actively taken on roles within the Chamber of Mining Engineers (TMMOB); he served as a board member and treasurer between 2015 and 2021, as the Vice President between 2021 and 2024, and has been serving as the General Secretary since 2024. He has acted as editor in the preparation of numerous technical reports and continues to work within various working groups focusing on mining and coal policies.
Mustafa YILDIZELİ was born in 1982 in İçmeli Town, located in the Central District of Niğde Province. He graduated from the Department of Mining Engineering at Çukurova University in 2004. In 2014, he completed his Master’s studies in the same department and received the title of Mining Engineer (M.Sc.). That same year, he also graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Business Administration, Department of Business. In 2015, he earned a second Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Istanbul Gelişim University, Institute of Science. He is the founder of MOSK Mining Consultancy Environmental Industry and Trade Ltd. Co., which operates in the fields of mining consultancy, mapping, reserve modeling, and planning. He currently serves as a Mining Engineer and General Manager in these companies. He has carried out numerous technical projects and scientific studies, particularly in the field of Cumulative Impact Assessments within Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies across sectors such as mining, energy, and industry. Mustafa YILDIZELİ is married and has two children, a daughter and a son.
